What happens when motivations strikes!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but motivation finally has gotten a hold of me! We had been working so hard on my son's room that my daughters room was feeling neglected. But after seeing so many cute projects on pinterest I had to get started. My to do list was a mile long! So I have been working non stop on projects and loving every minute of it! I'll share a few of the projects I got done.

I've finally made some more progress in the girls room. I made adorable bunting banners out of the fabric I'm using for their quilts & throw pillows.

Then I created some really cute collages with information about each kid. I didn't have time to order the 11x14 I need to fill the frame so I just quickly printed 8x10's at home and matted them. They will look way cuter when I get the 11x14's in! They were super simple to make. I just used picnik.

They turned out adorable with the bunting!

I was tired of looking at the stack of empty black picture frames in my closet. I had gotten a bunch as gifts and had never used them. So I decided to paint them a fun color and add some cute pics of the kids. There are some more along the girls storage unit!

Also the girls finally have curtains!!! Whoo Hoo! I am so proud. We have been slacking for a while. Love that something so cheap and easy makes the room look so good! They look amazing flowing around the vanity.

I also made a cute dry erase board for the girls. I can leave them messages, make countdowns, artwork, or sisters can leave each other notes! They are only 2 and 3 so I mounted it down at their level. They loved it!

They have tons of bows seeing as I owned a boutique. But I have fallen head over heels for rosettes lately. So I finally whipped up a few. The girls are loving their new hair pieces!
But my favorite project by far was our summer to do list! It turned out so beautiful and was so fun to make. I will be doing this every season from now on! Granted, I had way too many craft projects that I wanted to do that wouldn't fit. So I just made a sheet for crafts. When we choose to do crafts we'll just pull it out and choose from the list.

Here's a run down on how I made it.

I used picnik to create the title: Our Summer To Do List. Then I gathered a few different scrapbook papers that I liked and cut them into strips. I then turned them all over and taped them together. Something still felt missing. So I added some scrapbook papers to the header and cut out little triangles to make a bunting banner. After I put the banner on I wrote down our list with a black marker. I also spray painted the frame white. I was looking for a bigger frame, but this one worked out great. Then I put it all in the frame. Now all you need is a dry erase marker and you can check off your list as you go! Fun & Simple!

Now I promised you a bow tutorial, but haven't had the time as you can see why. But I got thinking. Would you rather have a rosette tutorial first? Let me know! I will try to get a tutorial made up this week! :)

  1. I love the idea of painting the picture frames! I never thought of that!

  2. Did you paint that phone? I have a similar one in black can I just paint over it?

    1. That phone is actually from Pottery Barn Kids. We got it for Makenna for her 2nd birthday. It's real, but we haven't plugged it in yet. One day when she is older. :)

  3. Can you tell me what colors the paint is for the walls in the room?
